dainox solutions in action at CWIX 2025

From June 2nd to June 20th, this year's international interoperability exercise CWIX took place in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

With over 3,000 participants from 40 nations, it was the largest CWIX to date, where participating nations tested their systems according to the latest NATO standards in a multinational environment. A representative expert team from dainox, as in the previous year, was actively involved on behalf of BAAINBw and NATO ACT in two focus areas: FMN Communications (with an emphasis on PCN) and FMN Core Services (focusing on audio and video-based collaboration). The exercises were conducted not only with fieldable systems but, above all, with fielded systems. As expected, MobKommSysBw assumed a pioneering role. Additionally, the team provided technical support to the participating partner nations on site to ensure shared success goals.

Achievements with systems and solutions made by dainox

With four dainBox SAs and the SDMN container, our participation in the "Biggest PCN ever," which involved more than 630 tests according to FMN PCN Spirals 4, 5, and 6, was again a complete success: these dainox systems and solutions demonstrated their interoperability in conjunction with eleven other nations following NATO/FMN standards and contributed valuable insights for the further development of the standards under review.

Innovations and Highlights

A special highlight for the PCN community was dainox’s first-time implementation of the graphical representation of the NMCD Federation network topology, in accordance with NATO JMEI. This GUI displayed more than 23 network nodes from three missions and the static core network against a tactical backdrop.

Another promising innovation was the integration of a multinational interoperable radio access point. This system not only ensures interoperability among radio devices from different manufacturers and nations but was also integrated into the mission network as a Coloured Cloud via the dainBox SA at CWIX for the first time. Through this innovative connection, it was possible to actively incorporate VoIP communication of the connected, simulated multinational command posts into the radio network. Furthermore, the most widely used software suite for military command and control systems (C4I) was productively operated via the same dainBox SA, enabling live production of situation reports.

All dainox test setups attracted great interest and served as a point of contact for numerous visitors, military delegations, press, and media representatives. Most importantly, the expectations of our clients were exceeded.

We thank all cooperation partners on site and look forward to continuing and deepening our collaboration at CWIX 2026.
